Nestled in arguably the most beautiful mountain ranges in British Columbia, The West Kootenay region of British Columbia is a unique place. Geographically, the region is in the lower interior of the province about equal distance from Vancouver and Calgary. The climate is surprisingly similar to the Okanagan with average temperatures varying by only a few degrees. Temperatures over 90 degrees in the summer are common while the winters are relatively mild except at higher elevations where the snow is abundant. In the West Kootenays you will find an endless natural playground, incredible cuisine, unique artisans and a relaxed pace combined with all the modern amenities that visitors require to both enjoy their vacation and stay connected.

For those interested in a unique travel experience, a floatplane trip can be arranged from Kelowna directly to the waterfront at Kokanee Falls. The flying time from Kelowna is about an hour and the views along the way are incredible!
